You are probably wondering what to do at Atlantis in the Bahamas after the water park closes or if it rains. Please note that all pools and water slides close at 7 p.m. Don’t worry, there’s plenty of entertainment for all ages. As I mentioned in a previous post, many of the marine life exhibits such as The Dig are indoors. Adults will enjoy the Casino, Aura Nightclub and Joker’s Wild Comedy Club. The Atlantis Theater and the Earth & Fire Pottery Studio is fun for any age. Finally, kids’ activities range from an arcade to a club just for them. That’s right – no parents allowed. You can keep up your exercise routine at the Fitness Center or relax at the spa. Be sure to pick up an Atlantean Guide each day for the scoop on activities.

Casino

As we were travelling with our child, we did not visit Atlantis’ comedy club. They feature some of TV’s funniest headliners and are located between the Beach and Coral Towers.

Earth & Fire Pottery Studio
For a creative diversion designed to enhance your Atlantis adventure, visit the Earth & Fire Pottery Studio. This is a unique way for you to create lasting memories of your journey to the lost continent. You will be able to receive your fired pieces after 4:00pm the following day. Leaving too soon? They offer a pottery painting alternative for guests not staying long enough for us to fire their glazed pieces overnight. The take n’ Bake program includes select decorative pottery options and non-fire paint colors that you can take home and heat set in your own oven! The Earth & Fire Pottery Studio is also the Atlantis scrapbooking source. Discover custom Atlantis scrapbooks, albums and paper for the perfect accompaniments to the photos highlighting your stay at the Atlantis in the Bahamas. (Wish I would have known that as I will be making an Atlantis scrapbook). We have plenty of pottery places at home, so we didn’t even check it out. The operating hours for Earth & Fire are 10:00am – 6:00pm daily. The studio is located next across from Club Rush in the Beach Tower Lobby. Atlantis Theater
After thunder closed the water park late one afternoon, we got dressed and headed to the theater to see The Pink Panther 2. The theater is located in the Convention center Rotunda between the Beach and Coral Towers of the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas. The movies are free, however snacks will cost you. We paid $22 for three sodas, three candies and 1 small popcorn – about what we’d pay at home. Concessions may be purchased with your room card, credit card or Atlantis gift card. Call extension 63462 for the showings or refer to your daily Atlantean guide. There is also a sign outside the theater with the day’s movies. The 5:00 p.m. movie was also the most appropriate for the younger set.

Gamers Reef
A wondrous ‘underwater’ world of entertainment where kids can beat their best scores on games such as Star Wars, Jurassic Park and Top Skater. Challenge a friend to a kung-fu dual in Tekken or join a 4-person race in Fast and Furious. Located in the Beach Tower Lobby. Open weekdays 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and weekends 10:00 a.m. to 11:00pm. Room charges only.
Club Rush
Teens and preteens can surf the net, play games on the new X-Box 360, PlayStation 3 or Nintendo Wii or watch the newest movie releases on the wide cinema screen. Dance to the latest jams from our live DJ every night on the dance floor or lounge with friends in one of the cozy seating areas. The club is open to pre-teens ages 6 to 12 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and teens ages 13 to 17 from 8:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Identification with proof of age is required upon first-time admission into Club Rush for 13-17 year olds only. A cover charge does apply (room charges & gift cards only). Snacks, sodas and retail items are available for purchase. One thing I’m sure the teens like is the “no parents” policy. I on the other hand am not so sure about that. As our son is just 8 years old, he did not visit Club Rush. I’m not sure if I’d want him to, however, even if he were older. I don’t think I’d want my child whatever age being out alone in a foreign county.
Atlantis Pals
This is basically a “Build a Bear” type place if you are familiar with those. Since we’ve done this type of activity many times at home, we decided to put our money elsewhere. However, if you’re interested, your child chooses a pal from a selection of cool, quirky and classically comforting animals like turtles, pink flamingos, cats, dogs and bears to start the relationship off just right. They then fluff their pal with a hand-stuffing exercise that ensures your new friend has the perfect “hug-factor” for you. After that come making a wish from five super special choices and then give it to your new friend to hold safe and secure in its heart. Of course, your pal needs something to wear. Choose fro an assortment of stylish and imaginative costumes, clothing separates and accessories that only a bear-y cool friend of yours would wear. Customized Atlantis t-shirts and outfits are also available. Finally, adopt your pal in the presence of your loved ones and our Court of Animal Justices. Your official Pals Birth Certificate is handed over right after you make your lifelong Pals Promise. What a great souvenir of your trip to Atlantis Paradise Island in the Bahamas. Atlantis Speedway
We also have this type of activity where we live, so we did not try this. However you have a little race fan, it might be just your thing to design, build and race your very own remote control race car or monster truck! Participants get a customized Atlantis Driver’s License and carrying case for their vehicle. Atlantis Speedway is located near Atlantis Kids Club, Lower Level, and Coral Towers. The Library
Visit the Library and browse the 2,000 volume collection including fiction, history, science, sports, leisure, children’s and Bahamian selections all available for check-out. Sit back relax with serene views of the waterscape or choose one of over twenty popular board games and challenge your friends. Computers with complimentary internet access available, 15 minutes per day. Print a boarding pass or check email. Challenge yourself with our daily Plato’s Puzzler quiz. Open seven days a week from 10:00am -6:00pm. Located in the Reef Wing of the Coral Towers.
Fitness Center
The recently expanded Fitness Facility has added on 3,800 sq. ft., accommodating two movement studios for spinning, yoga and Pilates classes, as well as a wellness area. Guest can enjoy fitness seminars, offering nutritional, weight management assistance. A grass courtyard and yoga pavilion overlook a 4-lane, 25 meter lap pool (which is outside), perfect for keeping in shape while you are on vacation at the Atlantis Hotel in the Bahamas.
Mandara Spa
Mandara Spa brings together ancient Balinese healing touches, traditional European therapies and natural elements indigenous to The Bahamas, to provide the most unique and pampering spa treatments including massage, facials, body treatments, hair salon treatments and teeth whitening.
