One of the things that I noticed that kids love to do when they travel on vacation is swim at the hotel pool. Since I travel alot, I never go to the pool because the novelty has worn off. Personally, though, I like swimming when we travel because I don’t have to have a pool at home. I noticed that when my inlaws closed their pool every year, they had to mess with swimming pool covers and winterizing it. To me that seems like a lot of work. And work is something that I try and avoid at all costs…lol. (Although I did help most of the time, my father in law did most of the work.)
Now in my neighborhood, we have a neighborhood pool. So, I don’t have to close my pool each year. I am lucky. But we don’t use it as much as I thought we would. When we travel though, we swim a lot. When we take family vacations, the hotel pool is something that kids just can’t ignore.
One of our trips this year was to Atlantis in the Bahamas and that was pools galore. The best thing about those kinds of pools is that they also have water slides which are a ton of fun. Personally, I love that kind of pool better since the hotel pools next to the lobby are kind of boring.
In any case, your kids are going to want to go the pool and you should go to no matter how you look in a bathing suit because your kids just want to have fun. Even if you just sit on the sites and don’t get your hair wet, they like it whenever you participate in the fun. Be a kid and get in the pool, but try not to mess with swimming pool covers.
