OK. So, my we were talking about where to go in the United States as far as family travel goes when we came across a site that talked about Alaska fishing lodges. I’m not a big outdoors kind of person. I think that there are two kinds of people in the world. They are hotel people and people who like to camp (or RV). I am a hotel person. In either case, your family can have fun. I had never considered taking our son on a fishing excursion to Alaska. The farthest we have gone to go fishing was the Indiana State Fair grounds. What’s great is that the pond was stocked with fish before we got there!
Although, I’ve traveled all over the world, I haven’t made it to Alaska and I would guess that your kids would need to be a lot older to fly fish (think teenager). I don’t know that we will ever make it up there, but if you or someone you know ever goes to a fishing lodge, please report back here and let us know whether it was a family vacation. I am inclined to think that it’s more of a guy bonding kind of trip myself. Either way, the closest I might make it to Alaska is when Sarah Palin visits my bookstore this month – and even then I am going to pass..lol.
