I went to the mall the other day and was doing some Christmas shopping. Once we got passed the girls with the perfume samples, we went to the IMAX movie, A Christmas Carol. Speaking of perfume, I never know the difference between perfume and cologne other than cologne is more expensive.
In the movie, Jim Carey and Gary Oldham played most of the parts. It was good. As a person already familiar with the story it is predicitable of course since we already know what happens. Otherwise, our son enjoyed the movie. He was eight at the time we saw it. Younger kids may be scared of the ghosts. Prior to the movie, we decided to go over the types of ghosts he would see in the movie just to prep him a little bit. He liked it and so did Mom and Dad. Jim Carey does a great job as Scrooge. There were a couple of creepy scenes but a couple of times our son was laughing.
I would recommend it but kind of prefer the Polar Express as the traditional Christmas movie to see at the holidays since it is not as dark and more geared towards kids. Still, A Christmas Carol provides parents with a reminder that there is no reason to be so grouchy all of the time.
