I was talking to the gal that cuts my hair yesterday about heating bills and I remember how my mom used to worry about propane prices. I had almost forgotten about how we had the propane tank in the back yard. Every year, they would come out and fill the tank but I can’t remember if that lasted us all year. We lived out in the country at the time and if the power ever went out in the county we lived in, it usually went out at our house. We had our fireplace equipped with a wood burning stove which kept the house really warm. But it was a pain to have to go out and get the wood all of the time, especially if it had already snowed all over it.
Now, we have a natural gas furnace that heats our house and strangely enough I get cold even though I have it set for 75 degrees all year long. I sometimes wish that I’d start moving that down to 72 degrees but I think my body is used to the higher temperature. Since we are all kind of spoiled, I think that we can hunker down for the $350 plus heating bill this year. Which reminds me, I need to have them come out and look at it for it’s annual check up, but that’s another story.
